  • CRACKERJACK VISUAL THINKING CREATES EASTLIGHT HOMES 2021 AGM ‘VALUE FOR MONEY JOURNEY’ WHITEBOARD ANIMATION

CRACKERJACK VISUAL THINKING CREATES EASTLIGHT HOMES 2021 AGM ‘VALUE FOR MONEY JOURNEY’ WHITEBOARD ANIMATION

Crackerjack Visual Thinking was recently asked by David Hall, Eastlight Homes Executive Director for Resources, to create a whiteboard animation to support the finance section of Eastlight’s 2021 Annual General Meeting.

The brief was to create an engaging, informative and fun animation that provided an overview of how Eastlight provides value for money for its customers. David has kindly agreed to let us share the ‘Value for Money Journey’ animation below which takes people “along a road very near you”…

After the event, we asked David how the animation had been received by the AGM audience and his answer was:

“Very well.  We presented the animation at the meeting yesterday evening and had some very positive immediate feedback. People liked the different and more informal approach to this subject and we are going to put it onto our website.”

David Hall | Executive Director Resources | Eastlight Homes

This was great to hear and we’re really pleased that the animation will provide on-going value via Eastlight’s website (in addition to the original aim of creating the animation for use at Eastlight’s AGM).

  • Creating your organisations vision for 2022 (now is the time!)

Creating your organisations vision for 2022 (now is the time!)

With just under 3 months to go before 2022, have you got a clear idea of your vision for 2022? If not, now is the time to create that vision and begin sharing it with your people!

For various reasons, many organisations only begin planning for the new year ahead a month or two after it has begun! That’s a couple of months where people may not have the clarity or direction they need to lay the foundations for a successful year ahead.

Creating a clear vision for 2022 ahead of time allows people to prepare themselves, their teams and their organisations ready for the start of the New Year. Investing time and resource into creating your vision now will pay dividends (metaphorical and literal!) in the coming year.

To discuss how best to visualise your vision for 2022, please do give us a call on +44 (0)115 6483381 or contact us.

  • Does your retail organisation have a clear vision for sales success this Christmas?

Does your retail organisation have a clear vision for sales success this Christmas?

Christmas is the month after next – don’t panic!!! Having a clear vision for sales success will help everyone in your organisation know what they need to do achieve your seasonal goals.

Giving your people clarity about what they need to do at any time of year is important in the retail sector, but even more so when faced with the pressures and demands of the all important Christmas period.

Whilst you will probably have your sourcing plans in place, ensuring that your manufacturing, supply chain, order fulfilment, support services and customer facing operations are aligned, joined-up and working effectively will remain a key challenge over the next few months.

This is not only a matter of helping people understand their specific role in your organisation, but also helping them understand how their actions directly and indirectly impact on other people and processes involved upstream and downstream from them in your seasonal operations.

Illustrating the vision for your organisations Christmas operations via a rich picture can be one of the most effective ways of aligning your people to your plans in the run up to this key trading period. This approach creates a shared understanding of what needs to be done, as well as helping people see how they can best support their colleagues across the organisation in achieving your seasonal trading goals.

  • Meetings don’t need to stop: they just need to be virtual, visual and engaging!

Just a quick note to say that meetings don’t need to stop during these challenging times! Work needs to continue for social and economic reasons – it just needs to be done in a different way.

There are many great on-line ways for teams to meet virtually and talk.

However, please remember that virtual meetings need the same (if not more) planning than your ‘normal’ face to face meetings! Here’s a quick checklist:

    • Be clear on the purpose and outcomes you desire for your meeting

    • Plan the flow of your meeting, weaving together inputs (not too many!), activities, feedback mechanisms and action planning to create a clear path towards the meeting outcomes.

    • Check and re-check the on-line meeting platform you will be using for the meeting. Check that all your participants can access the meeting platform and have the log-on details required.

    • Don’t forget that just like face to face meetings, introductions, ice-breakers and energisers still need to be part of your meetings. Design virtual versions of these activities for use during your meeting.

    • Use pictures and diagrams to frame conversations, drive discussion and engage your participants. And I’m not talking about 80 page PowerPoint decks!!!

We hope you find the above helpful.

Crackerjack is able to offer an on-line meeting facilitation service should you need help running your virtual meetings and virtual events. Please do CONTACT US for more information if we can be of help.

  • Latest client feedback about a rich picture created for the Strategic Consultancy team at AECOM Transportation (EMIA)

We’re very pleased to be able share this feedback from Steve Walton, Associate Director for Strategic Consultancy at AECOM Transportation (EMIA) in relation to 2019 Business Plan rich picture Crackerjack created earlier this year:

“Back in September 2018 AECOM’s Strategic Consultancy needed a way to visualise what we do. We wanted to find some way of explaining/demonstrating what we do, and more importantly – why we do it,  to any new members of our team, whether that be Graduates, or Apprentices or even more experienced personnel coming to work for us for the first time. Business process, whilst key to growth and success, is not always the most exciting of topics to learn or be told, even when you are actively supporting progress. However we felt that something a little more dynamic was required to maximise inclusion and understanding in what we do. So we worked with John and came up with a way of selling the story of what we do and why, but in a more engaging and interesting way.

The idea behind our graphic was simple enough. It was to tell a story. The story was developed so that it aligned with the corporate objectives, and the tools we have available to us. The story forms a roadmap, explaining who we are as a team, what we are trying to achieve, our vison, our values and our clients – both current and future. The graphic provides us with the ability to demonstrate what we do, why we do it, who we do it for and the value it provides to AECOM. It helps people who maybe have not been in the business long, or even visitors to our team visualise the journey we take every day.

John’s creativity to be able to visualise process and objective was critical here. John has an ability to see things which we sometimes cant, but which are always there. His approach was not one of direction, but simply to bring our story to life through his artwork. John’s work has been recognised by the wider business, and I believe this could be the start of a positive collaboration between AECOM and Crackerjack Visual Thinking.”

  • Great feedback from Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust about the ‘Transforming Care for the Future’ rich picture created by Crackerjack Visual Thinking #engage #communicate

Very pleased to be able to share feedback we’ve received from Mark Lindsay, Assistant Director of Strategy, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, in relation to the ‘Transforming Care for the Future’ rich picture we created for use across the organisation:

John from Crackerjack Visual Thinking was commissioned to create a rich picture depicting our strategy. In doing so he engaged with the team, not only offering suggestions, but importantly he listened to what we felt was important. He then seamlessly weaved this into the working document in a very timely manner.

He was very quick to respond and worked flexibly in terms of time and method of communication. We found that most of the work could be carried out over the telephone or email, but when we requested that he visit us, John didn’t hesitate to make the long journey.

He was happy to amend the work until we were completely satisfied with the result – which we were. If you are looking to depict your message through a rich picture, then John comes highly recommended!”

  • How a #graphicrecording created in 2015 continues to provide on-going value for the Institute of Quarrying (IQ) today…

Pleased to be able to share this feedback from Sarah Fry of the Institute of Quarrying (IQ) about the long-term value she has received from a graphic recording Crackerjack created  back in 2015:

In 2015 when we were planning our conference, we wanted to do something different.  Something that delegates would remember and something that we could use after the delegates had all gone.  We found Crackerjack and loved Johns engaging style of capturing concepts and ideas in a visually engaging way and knew this would give us what we were looking for.

During the conference John was an integral part of the event.  Live drawing became a feature of the conference and the resulting 3m x 1m landscape was a colourful representation of the key points made that industry should focus on.

    John Ashton graphic recording

Afterwards with the landscape duly scanned into a digital image, we could easily share the conference outputs with delegates and our wider audiences.  It was immediately used on social and during 2016 was integrated into other marketing and communication activities.  Because the design was adaptable, we could use the graphic in full or in sections to focus on key points we wanted to talk about.

Fast forward to the end of 2017.  We were having a tidy up in the office and found the original landscape drawing John created at our 2015 conference.  The digital version had worked hard for us but there was still something exciting about seeing the original artwork again.  Too good to simply discard and the concepts and issues captured are still relevant to the industry so we decided to get it framed to hang in our meeting room.

Due to its size we had to cut it into 3 different frames.  It certainly makes an impact!  The graphic is still a great talking point and a valuable device that helps us to engage our members and other visitors about what IQ is all about and how we support the quarrying industry.”
